Job Summary:

Develops, administers, and innovates human resources program and policy to support company goals and positively engage the workforce. Directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, benefits, training, labor relations, and employee relations.
  • Develops department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
  • Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs.
  • Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
  • Writes and delivers presentations to corporate offices or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices.
  • Prepares operating budgets for human resources and makes recommendations for funding that drives workforce productivity.
  • Advises leadership on all human resources issues with broad and current subject matter knowledge that includes expertise in federal and state employment laws.
  • Maintains a HRIS or other system for all required processes and transactions that provide data and reporting on HR activity.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job postings.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, vision and disability insurances, retirement plans, paid time off, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Raising proactive issues with managers, identifying practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues, and recommending appropriate action plans.
  • Collecting ongoing information regarding satisfaction of employee on salary packages and wage, working conditions, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages a team of Human Resources professionals. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and / or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business, or a related field; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Director of Human Resources role will have occasional travel to different FAST locations.
